Home Cooking is an age-old tradition that will never go out of style. A picture of a happy home is never complete without a busy kitchen. The aroma of cooking food gently intermingles with the laughter of the house occupants waiting to share the food together.

Tradition of Eating Together as a Family

Eating together as a family is often thought today of as old-fashioned. Nothing can be farther from the truth. It may have been the way families have been accustomed to eat from the early times. We cannot deny though that such way is still applicable and preferable during these modern times. Families that eat together in spite of various constraints are continuing a tradition that is acknowledged to be beneficial to the members.

Home-Cooked Food

At the center of this tradition is the practice of preparing home-cooked food. Food can be a unifying factor among families especially since it is a common practice not to discuss problems while eating. The practice of gathering together to eat delicious food however simple is the stuff of which family memories are made of.

Why Home Cooking is Here to Stay

Home cooking will never go out of style because of its relation to preserving the closeness of the family. It also allows members to do something together and to partake of the healthy and inexpensive results after cooking. The key is to keep it simple but tasty.Remember that when family members eat together, it is not only the physical body that gets nourishment but the soul as well.

  1. This is one of our favorite 'bonding session' as a family. I love our late night coffee talk and daga-daga midnight snack with my mom and sister.

    1. That is true that is why we try as much as possible to prepare food at home. When we are really pressured for time, take-out food serves its purpose.

  3. I agree with you and that is exactly what I miss - sit down dinners with the family. With my children all grown up, living different schedules, it is hard to find the right time to have dinner together. It is usually just me and my hubs at home and we have dinner in bowls, sitting side by side on the sofa, watching tv or just talking with each other.

  7. Home cooking is the best because you prepare it with love. You eat together as a family. It is the best part :-) I love to talk to my kids as well while having dinner. I am not a great cook but am glad that my kids appreciate what I cook for them and eat it too :-)

  9. We're only a family of two, so we have our meals together except when my husband is at work. Home cooking is here to stay. Aside from family togetherness, it's the wholesome, healthy meals prepared lovingly by the cook that makes it more enticing.

  10. Oh, yes, you're right! Home cooking is definitely here to stay. While we usually eat out every Saturday or Sunday, I still cook at home the rest of the week, and we usually eat together (hubby, me and son). That's where we usually talk about the day's activities, and it's one of the ways we bond as a family.

  11. I agree with you. Nothing beats home cooking and though hubby and I love to dine out, we enjoy more our own home cooking. If I'm not in the mood to cook, hubby will come to the rescue and cook our meal but most of the time I do the cooking.
