Fukuya Value Meals

So the search for the best value meal is still on for our family. For this month, we found ourselves sampling the food offered by Fukuya Japanese Restaurant. Since budget is our main consideration, we went straight for their Value Meals. The goal is to find the best value in terms of taste and serving given a set price range.

We had a pretty good idea of what to expect with regards to price and serving based on what we saw on their show window. The only question that remained was the taste. Since they say the "proof is in the pudding", it was time to go in and experience the taste for ourselves.

My daughter chose the Ebi Tempura. It was served with plain rice and stir fried mixed vegetables. Price PHP 140

My wife chose the pork gyoza. It was served with fried rice and vegetables. Price: PHP 115

I chose the Chicken Kara-age. It was served with plain rice and stir-fried mixed vegetables as well. Price: 115

My son chose Pork Tonkatsu . It was also served with plain rice and stir-fried mixed vegetables. Price: PHP 115

We also ordered Yakisoba costing PHP 145.

We purposely did not order flavored drinks so we can taste the food as is. We had to order extra rice for my son and myself. Dessert was bought from another establishment.

Our Verdict

From a scale of 1-5 with 1 being the lowest and 5 the highest, here is our verdict:

Flavor: 4
Price:  5
Ambiance: 4
Service: 4
Satiety: 4

The Fukuya Value Meals were not wanting in flavor especially if one is to consider the price. We actually experienced eating in a high-end Japanese restaurant that didn't offer much difference as to the taste. So if you are not particularly looking for a high-end feel as to ambiance and food presentation, then you'll probably enjoy dining at Fukuya just like we did.
